Combining H5P with clips found through Youglish looks to be a promising way to create new kinds of exercises. For the second video below, I used Youglish to find examples of после того как (“after” when using a verb in a dependent clause). I then used Screenflow to arrange selected clips in a new video, and H5P for optional captions and to embed comprehension checks on pronunciation (0:31, 0:39) and usage (1:05, 1:17).
Goals
После завтрака, после революции… it’s easy to say “after” with a noun. But what about phrases like “after I graduate,” or “after they arrived”? What if you couldn’t sleep “after watching a scary movie”, or returned home “after you got vaccinated”?
In this video we’ll look at how to use после with verbs in dependent clauses. It’s not difficult, but it is quite different from English – which makes it a great example of why it’s dangerous to translate word by word from one language to another.

Think how you might translate these examples into your language, keeping in mind that it’s sometimes necessary to “deconstruct” a sentence and rebuild it with different word order.
